School Zone
To avoid overcrowding, or the likelihood of overcrowding, the board of Christchurch East School has adopted an enrolment scheme that has been approved by the Secretary for Education.
Under this scheme, students will be enrolled if they live within the home zone described below.
Starting from the intersection of Bealey Avenue and Fitzgerald Avenue
The enrolment of out-of-zone students is governed by the provisions of the Education Act 1989.

- South on Stanmore Road to Avonside Drive
- East on Avonside Drive to Trent Street
- South on Trent Street to Armagh Street
- West on Armagh Street to Stanmore Road
- South on Stanmore Road to Gloucester Street
- East on Gloucester Street to England Street
- South on England Street to Cashel Street
- West on Cashel Street to Percy Street
- South on Percy Street to Tuam Street
- West on Tuam Street to Nursery Road
- South on Nursery Road to Ferry Road
- South east on Ferry Road to Moorhouse Avenue
- West on the north side only of Moorhouse Avenue to Colombo Street
- North on Colombo Street to Cathedral Square
- North through Cathedral Square to Colombo Street
- North on Colombo Street to Bealey Avenue
- East on Bealey Avenue to Fitzgerald Avenue, including;
- Manchester Street between Bealey Avenue and Purchas Street
- Bishop Street between Bealey Avenue and Purchas Street
- Madras Street between Bealey Avenue and Purchas Street
- Elderwood Lane
- Packe Street between Bealey Avenue and Purchas Street
- Barbadoes Street between Bealey Avenue and Purchas Street
