It is my pleasure to welcome you to Christchurch East School. Our school has a number of features that make it a unique and special place. Our staff is an extremely committed, professional team whose aim and passion is to inspire all students to learn, grow and love life, all of which is encompassed by our motto, Learning with Heart.   We actively encourage students to have passion for, and own, their learning through our C+O+O+L factor approach, which we look forward to sharing with you.

We are situated in the heart of the city, which provides a number of unique opportunities for our students.   We welcome a diverse range of families into our learning community.

Over the past few years, our school has undertaken some significant changes and we have continued to preserve our proud history while ensuring we maintain a future-focused approach towards teaching and learning.   We have revised our curriculum or plan for learning, and have developed a student-focused curriculum centred on developing the skills, attitudes and values that we believe students need to lead successful, happy and fulfilling lives in the 21st century.   At the heart of our curriculum, and every decision we make at Christchurch East School, are our core values or kaupapa of Te Ririte Equity, Te Hiranga Excellence, Ngākau Pono Integrity and Nohonga Tahitanga Sense of Community. 

We have also completed a number of property developments around our school, including the completion of three new collaborative teaching hubs which each host the equivalent to four home classrooms. These spaces provide an engaging learning environment to support teaching and learning to meet our students needs. Our school has also significantly upgraded our Digital Technology resources and infrastructure.
